This is the song that helped me understand what worship really is (it was kinda like a slap in the face that woke me up frm slumber).

There is a story behind that resulted the song to be written:

When Matt Redman (the song writer) was the Music Pastor of his church, the church was having really great worship services. All the songs that they sing was just ‘cunted’. But later the pastors of the church found that there was no worship beyond the songs. The church was like a fake plant, rooted on cement, absorbing nothing (if you understand what i mean). So they fired Matt Redman and decided that there will be no music for a period of time…this is when he wrote the song ‘The Heart of Worship’

My past 3 days (including today) was just totaly amazing…

I went for a musicians training for the past 3 days (fri-sun). I was expecting to learn about how to improve the church band with hands-on lessons and all…but it turned out to be something else.

I rediscovered what it means to "Worship" and why.

For most of us, worship might be the few hours that we spend on Sundays singing super ‘cun’ songs and enjoying yourself. However, that is not what God meant by worship. Worship is not only about singing songs but it’s a lifestyle.

Worship being a lifestyle means to put all your cares (BIG or small), all your laughters and cries, and EVERYTHING else to God. I’ve heard and known this since a year ago but i never really did understood the full meaning untill i went throught the training. It’s difficult to describe how i understood it via the training coz it wuz a personal encounter and experience with God.

We worship because we r made to worship. That’s one of the purposes God hav for us. ie. that is why we exist. After i finnished my finals, all i though of doing was playing drums, go out n lepak n to do the stuff dat i cant do while i study. After my finals, i immediately bought a pair of new drumsticks and i practiced, and practiced and practiced…but God wasn’t in the picture (God, pls forgive me). Yes, I was having fun whacking drums but i noticed frm the training that what ever i play, no matter how perfect my strokes were, there was no life in it. Though i was playing christian music, but there was no worship. It was just plain music.

I realized that it’s important 4 me to play with God in mind. So that what ever i play can be an offering to Him. Playing with God in mind and to worship with the talent he gave me made all the diffrence in the music. Even if it’s just a simple beat. Coz i’m not only playing good music, but also doing my best for HIM.

I learnt to live lifestyle of worship by putting everything i cared about to Him and to have faith that He has a plan for me. A plan to prosper and not to harm. So, what ever happens, good or bad, i believe it’s God’s plan that it happens and it’s for my good. =)

Take today for example. I was doing my driving practical test this morning, and my morning didn’t start right. First, i woke up late (it was 6.51am when my instructor was coming @ 7am!), then i had to rush to get dressed to get out (i even forgot bout wearing socks coz i was rushing). I didn’t have my breakfast, and i had to wait long to take the test. But i commited my test to Him by praying and though there were mistakes here n ther, i made it through! And the best part bout it was i didn’t bribe the guy, and it was my 1st time taking the test (keng leh? Praise God!). Both my sis did more than once to pass (never mind how many times they did it…kaka) so, my dad was expecting me to bribe to get through too. But when i told him that i’m not gonna bribe, he was makin quite some fair bit of noise…"If u fail ah…den hav to take again, den have to pay again…blah blah blah". But i told him "but Jesus didn’t bribe". So my da was like "Ok lor (long pause)…pray la." haha

And i made it   =P

I even did something that i’ve been thinking (for a long time), but don’t know if i should do it. And i’m glad i did it. Coz i saved every1 frm having a hard time in future (I prayed for this too!).

Bottom line: What ever it is, submit to God everything in life and have faith that he has a plan for you. A plan to prosper you, and not to harm you.

Just got back frm my 2nd (also 2nd last) practical driving lesson. Actually, i already took 10hrs of lesson 3months back but i didn’t hav da time to take the test then. So, postpone till now lor…I paid for another 6hrs lesson (3days) for revision den i’m gonna take da practical test on Monday.

Lessons started y’day with da usual mistakes n da instructor was nagging me almost all da way through da lesson coz i made quite some mistakes…(Sorry la…it’s been 3 months ma…kaka).

Than 2day was better, i was picking up and not repeating my mistakes anymore untill i was driving home just now…i was goin up a bump on a hilly area on 3rd gear…So, i slowed down and da instructor ask me 2 change to 2nd gear, den i kinda paniced la..coz da car is already slow, goin up a bump on a slope, summore wanna change gear ah? So, i tried but bt da car went backwards (coz i press da clutch) so, i breaked and da car "sei for" (went dead)…(Summore got lots of cars behind) So, I switch back to 1st gear bt forgot 2 press clutch den came dat cranking sound…

How did I end up? Kena marah like nobody’s business la! My instructor wuz like "Aiyoo…when we drive ah, we must see…da most important thing in driving are you eyes…must see properly…yada yada yada". Then i wuz like "oh..em…oh..ok ok" haha.

His phrase "da most important thing in driving are you eyes" kinda reminds me of da movie, Initial D…Chapman Tou said almost da samething…haha

ok..dats all bout it…i’ll tell u guys more if anything new crops up 2molo. If not u all wait till i finish my test la…kaka

Somestimes, lookin at ppl happily in a relationship gives me a sense of warmth and sweetness. I even envy them because they are with the person whom they love the most. But on the other hand, seeing a couple quarrelling with each other made me think "If being in a relationshp ment hurts and quarrells, why be in 1 in the 1st place?" I mean, i don’t want to find a gf so that i can quarrell with her or something…but to be happy being with each other. I don’t know if quarrelling is a part-and-parcel of being in a relationship but if i meant to hurt the other, i’d rather not start at all…

Y? coz’ i know what i means to be hurt and i have been hurt. So i’ve always told myself after whitnessing one of the "big-bangs" around da house, that i’ll do my best to avoid quarrelling with whoever it is i’m gonna be with. Even if things need to be sorted out and there were frustrations, i’d rather discuss it over calmly rather than to raise voices @ each other (regardless of who it is)…

~C! this is how pethetic ppl like me can get when ur best pal is havin exams or overseas…resulting to posting all this stuff on the blog (slaps forehead)…haih

Ay, Veng Hoong…when u coming back la…ur friend here very de pethetic la…and Mr.Kenny Kwa, pls kao tim ur exams quickly so dat we can go lepak! (it’s been ages la…) I’m counting grass @ home la…pls pls pls….~

This is something I find a waste of time but it also means killing time and for you guys to know me better as well. So what the heck, like nike sez, just do it.

Boring, sick, Tensed, Distracted, Mad & sleepless…

Those were the words that I’d use to describe myself for the last 2 weeks or so.

It’s been some time since I last posted anything here. Coz’ …yup, u guessed it! Exams! I’ve been grounding myself for 2 weeks now to study at home so that I don’t flung my finals. Believe me, though it works, but it’s da worst thing I can do to myself. Imagine being confined to the four walls of your room and trying to stuff all the theories, figures and what not of 14 weeks… into your brain in 1week! Thank God, I kinda did some targeting and those efforts paid off (so far…). But that wasn’t the worst part.

The worst was when i got distracted and my mind begin to wonder off somewhere…most of the time… music, drums, band and the one who’s been stuck in my brain for months.. =P Then, things became boring, looking at pages and pages of nothing but words and diagrams…[man, it makes me feel like puking (blech..)] and then, my feet began to move me towards the pc…my right hand reaches for the mouse, and began to move towards the MSN icon..checking who’s online, check friendster, surf around for anything related to drums or band..

But the funny thing was, somehow it is times like these that i actually find tonnes of ideas for the band and drums. =P

Then, exam came…and there were times that preparing for a certain paper becomes so intence, i began to talk nonsence which i myself have no idea of what the heck I’m talking about (ask Zhen Bin, he knows…he happened 2 be my victim the other day) haha..

Papers come and go, and they all went ok, untill what i had to day…Database Development and Application. Actually, even before i had the paper, i had a feeling that "its not gonna be very good" coz’ of the lecturer i had. All my classmates have been complaining and felt da same. Coz’ we all know how "good" a lecturer we have. Me n 2 of my other mates have been cursing him (lecturer) as we study. And osme how i got so pissed with him, i related him to a picture of this…

Any idea what this is? Haha…if u cant tell, it a Zebra’s Arse…

Of all things why a zebra’s butt? Don’t ask me..i so happen to have it (the pic) and it reminds me of Marty the zebra in Madagascar…haha (The naughty me…=) Of course, the lecturer didn’t know bout this…=P To those of you younger, DON’T LEARN! (remember: my words r copyrighted)

So are my exams over? Nope…i still have 1 more to go on Wednesday (hope that will be the last…without having to re-sit any of the papers) but for main papers, that’s the last.

I’ll tell u guys bout all the whacky stuff i’d do after my exams…
